DHARMUCHAK (AMRITSAR): Dara Singh, aged 83 years, who is battling for life in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai since 7th (saturday) 2012. The Character he made Lord Hanuman become an inspirational source for the scores of people in india and aboard. Dara Singh's nephew Baljit Singh, said: "The news is not good but we are hopeful and are praying to Lord Hanuman, he will be all right soon". Baljit, who was preparing to leave for Mumbai to be with his uncle, said the whole village was in grief and worried for the well being of Dara Singh. He said it was the character of Hanuman which he played in Ramayana that made him more famous.
Dara Singh was born here in a Jat family on November 19, 1928. One of his neighbour Pehalwan Darbara Singh said that Dara Sing was elder to him by 10 years. "When I passed out matriculate examination, Dara Singh inspired me to be a wrestler and since then I never looked beyond, I traveled with him around the world fighting wrestling competitions and also worked in some movies. As a young wrestler they used to drink 3 to 4 liters of milk, about a dozen eggs, meant, ghee and almonds. Dara Singh is going to be all right for all of us," he sobbed.

Sukhraj Singh, a local resident, who along with his family members, paid obeisance at Lord Hanuman temple for the well being of Dara Singh. "Dara Singh had given them funds for the construction of stadium in village.
